New Year. New Changes.

Welcome to the 4th Volume of Intersoft's Quarterly Newsletter! We hope you had a wonderful Holiday Season and hope you have a fantastic and prosperous New Year!

I am extremely excited to tell you about some wonderful new changes taking place at Intersoft this year. These new changes will make it easier for you, our clients, to receive support, track your website projects and pay your invoices!

New Changes to the Support Department

We are extremely happy to announce that we have a brand new Customer Service Portal located at, mysupport.intersoftgroup.com, or you can click on our "Support" link at the top left hand corner of our website.

The new portal still allows you to submit support tickets online, plus you now have the ability to create an online account which allows you to view and manage your support issues.

A new support policy has been enacted which requires all phoned, emailed and faxed support issues to have their own support ticket. This will allow our Support Technicians ease of tracking and resolving your support questions.

The new portal also has an online searchable knowledgebase that contains answers to common questions. The knowledgebase will be updated to include the most up-to-date questions and answers.

Our portal also contains a section called, News Stand. Our News Stand contains our Tech Tips from our Quarterly Newsletter as well as any important Industry News.

We would like to remind all of our website development clients about our Support Policy.

Support Policy:

The Intersoft Group, Inc. provides Ninety (90) days of free support on all custom web applications or their modification. The Free Support Period begins immediately upon publish of the application or modification.

Free support includes correction of programming code errors not discovered during the testing and review period, minor changes to content such as correcting spelling and grammatical errors, and problem troubleshooting. Free support does not include the addition or removal of functionality or the adding of pages or content. Nor does it include applications or part of applications that are not provided by Intersoft. Modification of the application by parties other than Intersoft may void the free support period.

After the Free Support Period, and unless a Maintenance or Support Only Contract is purchased, Intersoft will charge it's normal billable rates for support.

New Changes Coming to the Billing Department

Later in the first quarter we will be releasing a new area to our Customer Service Portal, which will allow you to pay your invoices online either by credit card or ACH (straight out of your checking account). You will still be able to send in payment by check and fax.

For our hosting clients, your invoices will now be sent 60, 30, 10 & 5 days before account expiration at which time you can go to our portal and pay the invoice online.

New Changes Coming to the Project Department

Toward the end of the second quarter this year we are planning on releasing another new area to our Customer Service Portal to allow our website clients to login and view their project status.

Some of the features this area will include are your project planned, start & end date, content needed list and submission form.

xSellit eCommerce Shopping Carts. Now more powerful than ever!

Yes, we know we've written a lot of articles about our xSellit Storefront product, however it just keeps getting better and better! So, you can't blame us, we're just really excited! Our xSellit Storefronts now offer more functionality than ever before and our xSellit product website just got a revamp!

The latest release of our xSellit Storefronts now blows many other eCommerce solutions out of the water. xSellit eCommerce Shopping Carts offer a ton of great new functionality.

Our Product Options now allows you to charge a different price per option. For example, if you are selling a Ring you can allocate a different price for the gold, white gold or platinum purchase without entering in the same product multiple times with different prices. xSellit Professionals now have Inventory Control which offers an amazing and powerful new feature. Our Inventory control lets you specify Quantity-On-Hand or In Stock/Out of Stock messaging plus it allows you to specify inventory at the product options level. You can mark that you have 40 White Gold Rings, 10 Gold Rings and 50 Platinum Rings in stock. You can set the Inventory control to auto deduct quantities of items once they are purchased and a quick Inventory Transaction based filler allows you to easily add inventory to a product as it arrives to your warehouse.

For those Ohio clients of ours, xSellit integrates into the Ohio Business Gateway (OBG). You can charge the appropriate sales tax per country that is required by the State of Ohio. We now offer Per Product Free Shipping. This is great for those interested in selling their services like consulting or service agreements, online. A powerful Product Search allows your customers to quickly locate products matching their search criteria searching through the database of all your products looking for the perfect match.

xSellit is now easier to use, offering Photo Resizing. For those clients not familiar with PhotosShop you can now just upload one large picture and xSellit will resize that picture to the three image sizes needed, the thumbnail, medium and large size pictures! An easy to use, Import & Export feature now allows you to quickly import/export your products using an Access database or Excel sheet and easily export your orders to a .csv file for quick import into your accounting system.

Of course all of the great features like an integrated PCI compliant gateway and integrated email marketing, great for repeat sales, are still included. xSellit eCommerce Storefronts are now more powerful than ever!

Tech Tips: Cell Phone Viruses...A Mobile Threat.

The number of mobile virus threats has been on the rise in recent years. McAfee's 2007 Mobile Security Report estimated that "83% of carriers worldwide have experienced infections in their network of up to 500,000 [mobile] devices." In May of 2006, there were an estimated 211 virus variants, which is a reported 35% increase in five months since the end of 2005.

Just like computer viruses, mobile virus could crash your phone and wreck its operating system. Other mobile viruses can just be plain annoying like changing your icons or making it difficult to use your phone. And of course, others are about money making schemes.

Viruses can be delivered to your phone or PDA either by Bluetooth, message attachments or application downloads. Bluetooth is the most common form of infection, with a leap range of up to 30 feet, any susceptible phone could be compromised anytime its out in public.

What can you do to protect your mobile device?
1) Disable Bluetooth on your phone or PDA
2) Utilize a mobile anti-virus program by McAfee, F-Secure and Trend Micro
3) Be sure to check your cell phone bill for any unexpected charges
