NEWBRIDGE AUTO PARTS www.newbridgeauto.com Profile: Newbridge Auto is a trading division of JH McLoughlin Ltd., the Largest Distributor of Texaco Fuel Oils in Leinster, Ireland. Newbridge Auto specializes in the automotive parts distribution business and is constantly improving its product range of auto filters and accessories. Challenge: Newbridge Auto Parts wanted a solution that allowed all of his customers to locate and order auto parts online as well as view their aging and a list of their open invoices. In addition he wanted to give his sales reps the ability to enter orders for their customers only using laptops. Solution: Intersoft implemented a two-phase web plan. The first phase included an updateable database application that allowed visitors to search Newbridge Auto's site for parts in two ways, by make and model of car or by part number. We also allowed visitors to enter a part number and view all models that the part fit. The second phase was the development of an integrated program that allowed customers to login to secured accounts to accomplish the following: place an order, check inventory, view their own summary aging report, and view a complete list of their open invoices. We also developed an advanced matrix to compute prices, depending on the customer, quantity ordered and currency used when the customer placed an order. We also implemented a value-added option, which displayed specific banners to specific customers to increase sales of items they were not currently buying. And if that's not interesting enough, we also incorporated a unique feature. The outside sales reps were given palm top computers. These computers were linked to the Internet so that the representatives could walk through their customers' warehouse, create an order on site, with price override capabilities, and then send them back to the office in real time.
